heheh thanks! I'm booting all my stony corals, so it's yours if you want it!
Why you’re getting rid of stony corals? I find them very fun & challening, with great growth & color! My SPS-dominant tank is very therapeutic - “boring” since no movement! lol

I’m actually building a nem-only tank so would be interesting. If you guys know where I can find a red / blue Haddoni carpet, let me know! Also, looking for some colorful RBAs as well.

I've had this tank up for a few years and have gone through various phases with it, but it's always been a mixed reef with a bunch of SPS and LPS. Life got in the way and some of my favorite SPS and a few LPS died on me recently, which was an expensive bummer. Due to the uncertainty of my schedule and my habits, I dont reliably test/dose my tank, so I'm converting to softies only(except for a couple LPS) to minimize alk consumption in the tank, allowing me to be lazier with it lol.

Also, now that I'm REALLY looking into some of the less common softies, I'm pretty hooked on them lol

P.S. I don't know if they still have it, but I think Tong's tropical fish has a huge red carpet. Idk how big your tank is or if they still have it for sure, but it was in their store for a long while. It's real big, so hopefully your tank is too lol.

I saw one at Tongs many months ago — I’m looking for something smaller (and cheaper).

I think that I’m “lazier” than you! Between my busy work schedule and balancing family activities, I literally have no time left for reefing. Even so, I have 3 tanks + a frag tank! I’ve automated to reduce/eliminate chores & upkeep.
150g Main tank: just clean the glass and skimmer
6g Second tank: clean glass
200g Third tank + frag: up and running but no livestocks yet.

I don’t do any water changes. Except the main tank where I run a skimmer + CO2 scrubber for high pH, the others are running with Chaeto, no skimmer!

I suppose that I’ve been lucky but honestly, acros are growing like weeds without doing much!

Just sharing — good luck with your tank!

hell yeah dude. do you have a controller, dose/test your water or anything? I was usually able to get away with 2, sometimes 3 months between water changes before algae would start becoming a nuisance. I let my tank roll for a loooong time without intervention and when I finally tested my water, alk was like 3.2, phos was off the charts lol. But, the corals didn't look pissed, they just weren't growing much(high phos can inhibit stony coral growth). Once I got things back in check, tank was thriving again as usual. Idk what happened with this most recent time, but I was out of town for a while, then was super sick for a month and just didnt have the energy to intervene. Tank semi-crashed which has led me to go with softies. I only have a little 30 gal long AIO tank and nutrient export is a bit of a challenge on it for some reason. My previous 5 gal reef was neglected, never dosed, never did any export, but phos and nitrates always stayed low. For some reason, this 30 gal has always struggled more with export, even when trying more advanced methods
