I’m going to start by saying I knew better and I’m hoping this fixed the issue
About 6 to 8 week back the Xenia in my tank started to look like crap. Well the week before I dosed red slime remover so I was thinking it was the red slime remover irritating the Xenia. So I add some carbon and let things be. The Xenia eventually melted away a week or so later. Then the colony of red dragon started to stn. Now I go into a bit of panic mode what the hell is happening on. I asked a buddy to test my water so I could see if my test kits are reading false. That wasn’t the issue his results were pretty spot on with mine. So seen I haven’t had an alk swing I start questioning what else. Well around the beginning of the year I read an article on reef builders about a guy having success with eliminating dinos by raising the temp in the tank to 82ish. So I started slowly raising temp about a degree a month till I was in the ball park of 80-81. I started thinking is this causing the stn, so I slowly started dropping the temp. I’m still currently in the high 79 range. Then 3 weeks ago I started seeing a few other white spots from skeleton showing. I instantly start thinking omg mofo-en aefw. So I pulled out my 10x magnifier and start inspecting. No eggs and no flatworms. Well I felt a little better but still thinking wtf is it from the temp being to high. I did think to check all the magnets in the tank but all my pumps are still pretty new I highly doubt it’s a magnet issue. Now I’m thinking do the wife spray air fresheners around the tank or even poisons. Well I purchased a new uv sterilizer a while ago a decided it would be a great weekend for a fall deep cleaning. Will I found a mp40 with a rusty magnet. I’m hoping that’s the issue of the stn’n
