Shipment received Tuesday morning. Bag busted open during transit and this is what I saw when I opened up the box. Thought it was dead, but threw it in the tank for the hell of it. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404419262.979193.jpg
Two days later, this is what I'm looking at: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404419292.610816.jpg what do you guys think?

Should have a chance... Just looked bleached but there seems to be some flesh still on there...

As a seller, how would you handle this? How pissed should I be? What should I expect?

**** 0 for 2. Looks really bleached... but may make it but might have to wait a while for it to color up if it ever does. I would contact them and let them know.

if I sold it to you I would want to know specially if the package leaked and I would ship out another free of charge with some goodies in it just to make sure you were a happy camper!

Seller knows. I was in the phone with him when I opened the box. Initially we thought it was dead, and he said he'd replace it with the three chalices I posted yesterday.
Once I saw it had a little color to it, I called him and let him know the good news. If I was a douche, I think I could've scored a free baller rainbow chalice, but that's not the way to roll. So there won't be a replacement, and I've got a baller chalice in bad shape. I'm good if it makes it, but what if it ends up dying on me in a week? Will he blame it on my water or tank params...is it then my fault?

If I were the seller, I would ask to let it be for a month and see what happens and if it dies after that, then send out a new piece. If it's alive, everybody is happy.

If I were the buyer, I'd let it be for a month and if it dies, ask for the seller to send a replacement. If it lives, then everyone is happy.

:D

From what it sounds like, the seller is willing to work with you so hopefully that'll give you confidence in the transaction and the seller's DOA policy.
FWIW, I've read many threads where people would transport live coral in wet newspapers and the coral was just fine. It took longer to recover but still alive.

Seller is totally cool, and I've bought from him a few times In the past. He told me to keep him updated on the progress of it, so we'll see how things go.

If you've purchase from him and your cool with recovery time and don't make the seller pay for overnight shipping again he may remember that on the next shipment and hook you up just because you were an understanding person. Just my .02

It sounds like a high end coral. I would talk to seller and make sure he will replace it if it dies down the road. Honestly, I have never had luck with bleached chalice recovery.

$400 Bleached chalice progress...what would you do now?
Here's a pic from yesterday. No progress. It eats, but as you can see, nothing has changed. Seller was sent the same pic; he said we would be able to talk on Sunday. Please post your thoughts on what you think is the proper way to handle this situation. It's been a month now. Keep in mind I paid $400 for this. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1406422382.257414.jpg
