Good stuff noah...I am now back to enjoying the hobby after seeing all my current fish healthy and fully quarantined. I didnt think I had room for a qt in my tiny place..but that was until I got hit with cracky disease, then I sure made some room right quick. Lol
That's why I'm selling my calcium reactor. I rather have a QT then that love fish more lol
Nice! So is it a new display? Or did you leave it fallow for the time frame it takes to kill the parasite?

Also, if it is a new display and you used live rock from another tank or a friends tank, it could be there too! I would hate to see you go through all this trouble and have it be for not.
See, what I had was flukes. Its not like ick which stay dormant till a stressed fish shows up. Also there is no "cycle" its just contagious. So after 1 month of not adding any fish and observing them and treating the tank with prazipro. I'm confident the medication killed it off. I say this because I was able to save about 8 fish. And they are healthy and eating. So new fish imma qt for another month. By then I should be good.

Nice man! I appreciate the explanation. I've had flukes before and was just wondering how everyone else handles it . I get the eery feeling they are just laying in wait sometimes... Hahaha

Nice job no matter the reason, way to raise your reef keeping bar:) QTing fish and corals is overall a win/win for both hobbiest and marine life. But more important its the right thing to do giving them a chance to adjust their new life in a slow calm way.
