I bought a used Nuvo 16 from a member here for my girlfriend. I was planning to do a freshwater guppy tank for her. I filled the tank to the top and walked away then I heard a thump, came back and discovered it cracked. Sucks cuz I went to the fish store and bought a bunch if stuff for it today, was trying to get it started. I googled cracked Nuvo tank and discovered that a lot of IM Nuvo tanks fail and usually crack the same way as mine, from the bottom front corner. Anyways no moral to the story, I just needed to cry a little bit haha. I'm just very glad it cracked in the bath tub and not in the room.

Sorry to hear man but that problem seems to be very common with those nuvo tanks like you found out ... unfortunately a little too late.

Were you using the pedestal that comes with it?
Maybe try contacting Nuvo and see if they can replace it since its a common problem.

The floor of the tub is uneven and I wasn't using the pedestal. I'm just relieved it happened in the tub and not the room.

I bought it used so there's no warranty I can run through. It's just a lost.

Yea there is a lot of threads on nano reef about nuvo a cracking out of no where. Somewhere in one of the threads IM stated it was because of the way they shipped the tanks and were changing the way they were shipping it. I think there is a flaw in the way they build their tanks

If u contact I M, I would recommend keeping the fact that u bought it used out of the details. Regardless if u bought it new or used, it shouldn't leak. But they might not agree.
