Here is the story,

Yesterday I picked up a couple frags from Dendro Dude, (thanks by the way they look great), when I got home I noticed what I thought was Ich on my hippo tang. upon closer inspection I noticed she had the stuff on her left eye as well. It looks like little pieces of rice that are hanging off her body and eye. I believe its crypto.
I purchased a 40 gallon tank and set it up in the garage last night to use as a hospital tank.

as of right now I don't think I will be able to use it due to several reasons.

1) its cold at night and I don't know if the 400 Watts worth of heaters is enough to maintain 81 degrees
2) unsure if its big enough for all my fish
3) I'm unable to catch the fish due to elbow surgery I had this past tuesday

can I go hypo on the DT if I remove all coral? what about my clam and nems?
will the hypo work with the rock and sand in DT?

I am currently stuck on what I can do.
any help suggestions are welcome but please keep them on track.

thank you

Hmmmmmm that's a tough one, I don't think hypo will work as the nem and clam would be affected. I think your eat bet would be your 40 g. I'm not rue where sunland is but if it's not to far I don't mind catching em for ya. You don't need to keep your temp at 81 also parasites like the water warmer. You can prob get away with as low As 77. Id set up the 40 and treat that way.

Really?
Ok so if its flukes I can treat the dt with Prozipro right?
It's hard to tell from the pictures. But just to verify, are it's eyes cloudy?

Also, I belive you can treat with Prazipro in the display, but it might take corals a bit to recover. Aaron sonnus mentioned this in a previous thread.

Here's a post Zoarder posted a while back on Flukes. See if you see any symptoms: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1260067

Just the one eye is cloudy as seen in the pic
Hmmm. Well, I'll let Zoarder, Tangwich, and Aaron chime in if they can. They have more experience on the matter.

Flukes have the shape of sesame seeds, do you see anything similar?

Giving it a freshwater bath would confirm if flukes for sure.

If I could catch her I would do a fw dip but im currently a 1 armed bandit and its gonna be impossible for me
Oh. That sucks. Well, check the RC link I posted and see if you note anything. That'll probably give us more hints.

Does the hippo still eat normally? Does it poop normal? Does it act oddly in any other way?

I have read that entir post on rc and its still hard to tell what it is. Most of the pics show flukes on the eye as just cloudyness with nothing sticking I out. My fish actually has the mily white things sticking out about 1 - 2 mm. Man this sucks bad.
I think im gonna run down to Aaron's shop at 1 when he opens and see if we cant narrow it down and come up with an action plan.

I also just noticed these little things on my filefish that look almost the same but they are evenly distributed and all the same length on both sides of the body. Wondering if thats normal on a filefish
