Tank for sale, a shallow reef tank, approx 100 gallons, with stand - needs repair

LeeMar custom rimless tank (not starfire) 48" wide x 18" tall x 30" front to back, with custom stand.

When it was setup and running....

Condition:

- Tank - I am selling this because it leaked, it seems the leak is a small hole in the black silicone near where the overflow wall hits the left side wall. Why it suddenly started to leak I have no idea, the day of the leak there was a small earthquake in our area (LAX), and approx 4-5 hours later we noticed the slow leak. The tank is fairly new (less than 3 years old), and when we contacted Leemar, I was quoted approx $200 for a repair.

- Stand - Seems to be in good shape, there was a little water damage due to the leak. I suspect the stand played a factor into the leak as the rear supports seem insufficient (to me), but this was built by a stand builder many RC/Socalireefs members use so it may be OK to use once the tank is fixed, I offer no guarantee though.

I bought the tank and stand in December 2011 for $900.

Selling it as-is now for $400 OBO

Pick up only (bring a friend or two, it is quite heavy and difficult to carry due to how wide and shallow it is).

I am located in Lawndale, Ca. About 3 miles SE of LAX.

- Thanks,
Mike Thibeau

Cosmetically nice stand but from the picture, the back has no strong support at all to prevent it from rocking left and right. Even the 2x4 is cut for the overflow. Its going to need a solid rectangle panel to prevent it from collapsing. Glws.

I agree, I thought it looked funny when I bought it from the previous owner, but it was built by a known stand builder and had been setup for a while like that at the previous owners house. It appears it was built right originally, then someone cut out the support to fit in the overflow plumbing.

How long LeeMer cover their guarantee?
5 years, but only if you use a Leemar stand, which this was not.

Bump, still available, buyer fell through...

Please no offers of "ill take it for free", I invested over $800 in this tank and stand, glass is worth something... it just needs a silicone seam repair, no cracks at all.

I have no idea how to re-silicone a tank. Wouldn't I have to re-do the entire thing? I am looking into getting it professionally repaired, so I can re-sell at full price.

Bump - I just got some info for the tank repair.

I was told it can be brought to where it was purchased any Friday (tank was from Ali's shop - Amazing Aquariums and Reefs in Orange, Ca), or to any local store that does business with Leemar.

I was quoted a range of $80 to $200 for the repair.

I am going to sell the stand separate from the tank, I don't think the stand is safe to use. Here are my newest prices:
- Tank by itself - $300 OBO
- Stand - $Free with tank, or $40 if someone wants to buy it stand alone

So... pick up the tank from me for $300 OBO, drive it to Orange, pay anywhere from $80 - 200 more for the repair, and pick it up. That would be as little as $380 or as much as $500 for a killer shallow rimless tank (that I paid $900 for a year and a half ago).
