Fellow reefers, i plan to change from TMP to D&D salt. I would like to know what parameter you are getting from this salt. I know the Mg and K+ is higher but how high is the Alk, and Ca. I would like to get your result from the salt mix not what show on the bucket. I also want to know if you have any problem with mixing the salt? Thank you for your input..

Are you talking about the 9.3 alk and 440 Ca? Honestly that is not my concern because with 700+G total volume with 50g weekly water change will not change my parameter. I just want to make sure that people getting good result with this salt and its easy to mix. Other than that i am cool with the rest....

I have heard from many that the D-D doesn't mix as easily as the TMP. I'd be curios to see which one is cheaper when it comes to $ per gallon of saltwater made at 1.025. I have only tried TMP not DD so far.

IMO D-D is like a fine grain sand. It takes longer to mix IMO when compared to TMP. THOUGH.. if you are allowing it to mix for 24 hours like "WE ALL DO" then there are no issues riiiight? :)

just my .02

I changed from TMP to D-D b/c its A LOT CHEAPER, and I get very similiar results. Also b/c D-D is like a fine sand rather than OOLITE sand [TMP] you don't get this big cloud of salt smoke in the air ...

TMP - $75 to $85.00 ot D-D $50-65 similiar results, and if you do the math.. it just makes sense.
