So...here is the finished stand. :)

So I was pretty excited about this until I discovered this problem...I measured for the sump and ordered it BEFORE I thought about needing to add the support frame to the inside of the crate... :redface-oops-6:

As you can see, it wasn't going in past the 2x4 supports on either side...

:a17: :stupido2:

So I ended up having to cut out one of the supports to install the sump and then put it back. Not a perfect solution...but it worked. :D

Next...AQUASCAPING!

Here's what I started out to work with...

I'm a bit of a rock hoarder...I still had 3 unopened totes full that I didn't even look at for this...I'm holding those over for the BIG tank build (hopefully next year)...anywho...

This was my first attempt...

Not "terrible" ...but definitely WAY too busy (and probably a bit large).

So I scrapped that one and started over...this was the result.

Here it is in the tank.

And...with sand and adding water...

:) :) :D

So...at RAP I picked up a flame angel and a purple firefish that are now in QT. I'm also planning to add:

2 Black Ice Clowns
Lubbock's Wrasse
Diamond Goby
Gold Assessor Basslet

So now I'm hunting for those last 3 fish (I already have the clowns which are being held by a friend back east until I ask him to send them). So far it looks like I'll have to get them from LA bc no one else seems to have the basslet.

I'm also buying an acrylic lid from Artfully Acrylic to keep the wrasse and gobies from jumping.

Thanks! I've got a message in to them to see about getting the lid made. I will definitely be taking advantage of the sale! :D
Their pretty bad about answering emails. From what I understand, you order the cover and then they'll contact you before they make it.

Looking really nice. I really like what you have done with the rockscape and can't wait to see more photos. Keep up the great work.

So here's tonight's update...Plumbing is done. :)

Not too shabby for my first time doing hard plumbing (all my other tanks were just a hodge podge of flex hoses). :)
