Just got back from the coral show and dipped frogspawn from one vendor. Euphilias eating flatworms!!!!

Make sure you dip!

PM if you want to know the vendor. Don’t know if it’s allowed to put others on blast here.

Those worms can be gently brushed off with a tooth brush and their eggs

Sometimes they’re hard to see. Usually a FW dip will kill them. CoralRX and other stuff seems to stun them to let go.

The ones were in the the mouth of the coral and came out when I used a turkey baster to swirl water around. It was flapping in the water. Wish I took a video of that one.

Some other folks said it could’ve been a polyclad flatworm.

I didn’t find any eggs so could’ve been a hitchhiker from another piece. But coral is in a softies QT tank so observing and sipping again before I bring it anywhere else.

No matter how expensive the piece mines get put through a bayer's milkshake
no mater how well I know the person.

I use melafix in a black vessel. I'm not trying to kill, I want to see what comes off. I will toss a $500 frag before I take a risk.

years ago I had a very close friend, very top reefer ask me to try and color up a colony of his that wasn't doing well. It had been a long day and I was tired and almost just pop n dropped but I did my dip and found dozens of AFEWs and eggs he ended up spending months getting them out of his small tank.

I fragged it and FW dipped, managed to save some of it.

I pussed out when I bought a Vivid 4 loco a couple years back, a few other pieces but I think thats where I got AEFW in my 66g. Cut ALL my pieces from the rocks, set up a frag tank in the garage. Those dip days were stressful as hell and all I could think everytime was I could have avoided it all with 1 snip and dip when I purchased the stick. I always have to learn the hard way...

My Tank Build

Aefw is the reason I set up a coral QT tank. Everything I get no mater who goes into the QT after dip. It stays in there for 2-4 weeks depending if I think I see bit marks.
