Grade A Picassos:
A's have additional white with one of the three stripes connecting on BOTH sides of the fish.

Grade B Picassos:
Grade B's have either no stripes connected OR only ONE side that has connected stripes; unlike A's that must have stripes connected on both sides.

I would say no... but pretty close.
I actually like Picassos better... As long as there is a lot of black too.
Snowflakes look like a blob of white.

We have 1 pair of snowflakes and 1 pair of ultra picasso coming tomorrow from ORA.

What I can tell you is that:

Snowflakes 80-90% of the body is white

Picasso has many different grade; ultra, grade A, grade B and grade C; it all depends on the buyers.

Numerous time ORA sent use grade A picasso and the white is not touching, but the white patterns are very nice.

If I am not mistaken arent there only 2 grades.(being Grade A & GradeB) then they started coming out with the semi picassos. I have never heard of ultra Grade A, if that would be the case how would you distinguish Grade A from Ultra Grade A....???? with out saying $$$(obviously that would be it, but not a valid answer) I have 2 Tanks Just dedicated to Ora Grade A Picassos. That is funny how stuff gets makes as "Ultra" when there is no such thing as that, as far as I am awar. I think that is a gimic to justify getting more cash flow for the clowns. If I am wrong please let me know. I would like to be kept well informed of the new "grades" that are not flooding the markets!

Best Regards!

Yes there are 2 grade A and B according to ORA.

However there are many different breeders now aday, there are grade C, ultra and snowcasso. To me grade A is very nice pattern, but sometime you still find some few in complete and imperfection, like missing sideburn, the white patterns are too small..etc. This is where the ultra comes in; with more white and the patterns are better then the grade A.

Ultra grade is like one step below snowflakes; if you want stop by my shop and I love to show you the different. I didn't really came up with the ultra grade, this came from my customers.

There also numerous time, we received grade A from ORA, that the fish is missing fin or defective. You can ask Eddie. Stop by and I would love to show you the different.

Today ORA is not the only company that breed clown fish.

It has nothing to do with the amount of white. Its simply

Picasso- Percula

Snowflake- Occalaris... or however the hell you spell it... you get the point :D

Yep, like bigian said.
Snowflakes are ocellaris clownfish, with the extra white mutation.
Picassos are percula clownfish, with the extra white mutation.

Now, there are "grades" within picassos, including the so-called "snowcasso" which is mostly white as well as "A-grade" and "B-grade" which you can see others' posts for. All these grades of picassos are still perculas.

Someone should try an snowflake x B&W hybrid.

That is exactly what I have heard is correct and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about clownfish. Who knows in a few months with all these designer names & grades for clowns its hard to keep track. Don't forget C-Quest designer name for picasso grade A clown is the cotton candy clown. Just to add to the confusion.

C-Quest's Cotton Candy Clownfish
