Hello All,

Do torches normally retrack? I picked up 2 heads yesterday and they were out and stretching fine an hour after I put them in the tank. Today I did a 10gal water change, water went cloudy for some reason but torches were still out. As soon as the water started clearing up one of them started to retrack.

Is this normal?

Extremely normal.

I would only be concerned if they stay this way for days.
Euphyllias are very susceptible to BJD so I would make sure that they aren't infected by that.

HTH.

Yeah, I've seen this a lot. When I got mine it had three heads. After a while they all started retracting and one got the BJR. I cut that one off and left the other two. I eventually moved its location and another started receding and it died. I moved it back to it's original location and the remaining head split and now is in pretty good shape. However, it still retracts every night. I just don't get these guys.
