.. Eh guess my title says it all. I was cleaning my tank and failed to move the auto feeder, I bumped it and into the tank it went. Grabbed it real quick, batteries fell out, after a few days of drying it seemed to be.. Now nothing. LCD works properly but motor to turn pellet container does not. Now to buy another, I had the Eheim 4cycle one and was thinking about getting the same again, Any recommendations for a new one? Really need it for upcoming vacation next month.

haha, my wife did the exact same thing with mine. Exact same feeder. Took mine apart and put it back together and it works now, its slower but works.

Sorry to highjack, but how do you guys like the eheim? They're coming into my LFS tomorrow and was going to pick one up before my Vacation. The fish have never had flake food - always had pellets - but they'll learn to adapt (hopefully)

Same thing happened to me, twice. 3rd time I secured it.

Here is the trick, take out the batteries, and rinse it with fresh water. I did RO water from my drinking tap straight into the motor block electronics, everything. Again, the batteries have to be completely out and the rinsing needs to be done well.

If this is done, I bet it will work good as new after it has had some time to try. I let mine dry for a few days and it worked perfectly both times.

Can't beat it for the money. Easy to program and works great unless you take it swimming. It doesn't seem to like this.

I did it to an eheim and an Apex this summer. Replaced the eheim cause its so much cheaper. Then called Apex to see what they could do since it would be a shame to throw the whole thing out. They told me to send it in and they ended up fixed the motor for much less than the cost of the new eheim!

The newer eheim doesn't seem like they are built as good. My motor is making noise sometimes.

Also my daughter ask if your avatar was a picture of your belly?? LOL

I have mine sitting on top of my mesh top cover. And it got tipped over from that decent sized quake a few months back but the mesh prevented it from falling into the tank.
