Remember you can bump up your ISO to improve the low light performance and to be able to up your shutter speed. You can always remove the grain in post.
How do you remove grain in PP? I try to always shoot below 400 ISO unless its a low aperture fish shot or something.

To the OP, second photo looks much better, you DONT need a new lens, learn that camera like the back of your hand and take at least 5-10 photo sessions of photos / practice before you decide if you want to get new gear. Too many times people buy the latest and greatest expensive gear and then end up selling it and losing a bunch of money because those "amazing" pictures never show up...good luck!
