What's everybody using for dosing on this size tank??

Originally was doing 20-30% water changes weekly to upkeep with the 2-part consumption, but as of lately it's not enough and my parameters has been slowly creeping down. Was planning on doing two water changes weekly, evenly spread out, in hoping that keeps things more stable.

Was planning on doing the Tropic Marin All-For-Reef with a single dosing head and hose to keep the aesthetic looking cleaner. Has anyone used this and notice that Alk or Ca not evenly being consumed. I normally use ESV B-Ionic on all my tanks and I always end up using more Alk than Ca.

I don’t test parameters, but I’ve been dosing 35ml daily of AFR on my 120 mixed reef and everything seems to be happy. I also make my own water with black Red Sea salt to around 1.026

Your tank must be stocked. u can do kalk in the ato also, ive done that before but prefer dosing. I would reccomend dosing 2 part vs aio supplements. I use redsea doser2 on my 30g aio and kamoer f4 for my 50g aio.

TM all for reef is a great option. I'm dosing TM CarboCalcium on my nano, as I'm dosing trace elements individually. You can always test every couple of months (ICP) and do water changes to correct any build up or depleted elements. Just keep temp, salinity and alk stable and you should be fine.

Also, I love AquaVitro Sentia dosers for this application (and all dosing). Their app is great and you can always add secondary dosers as needed. I have 3 (one primary and 2 secondary) on my 90g system and 2 (1 primary and 1 secondary) on my nano system.

I Dose Kalk+2 from brightwell through my ATO container. It seems to be holding up.
A teaspoon of that in the ato might make the difference, of course alongside the 2 part.

  • Thanks for your input guys. Can’t run kalk in my ATO reservoir is a top off for two other tanks.
  • Most likely gonna run an Ecotech Versa single dosing head with the Tropic Marin All-For-Reef - read that magnesium is low in it and will need to add additional eventually. Gonna do this first and see how it goes for a few months to see how stable I can get it. This is ideal for me to keep a single line without it looking cluttered.
  • If that doesn’t work out where Alk and Ca is consumed equally - I’ll switch over to ESV Bionic 2-part.

I wouldn’t worry too much about calcium, as long as it’s within range you’re good. Just test for alk and adjust dosage accordingly. Besides, alk and ca are never consumed in equal amounts and trying to keep them equal is too much work and not worth it. If Ca is between 380-450, I wouldn’t worry at all.
