Anybody have any experience with dottybacks? I want to get one from the ocreefmaddness buy, but I'm worried that it might be a punk with wrasses. What's your experience with them?

They are assholes ime. I had an orchid one and the bicolor one. In small tanks anyway. Similar personalities to assessors.

Had one. He was a punk and picked on my smaller clownfish and kicked a shrimp out of his home. He went back to the store

Got one of those bitchen dottybacks for my chicks tank. That punked every new fish that we put in the tank. Nice looking fish, but they're really aggressive. After awhile it jumped out, I def won't be putting another one back.

I have a 50G cube. Had an established Leopard wrasse, firefish and Anthias in there. From special order buy through coral obsessions I added, pair of black ice clown, small orchid and small sunrise dottyback. Have had no issues in the three months I have had them.

I have a springers. He left original tankmates alone. He would chase new smaller fish added but after a while left them alone. I was able to put purple firefish in the tank with him in there. They made it.

It all depends on the dottyback. I've heard that most are punks, but the orchids are not only beautiful fish, but always peaceful in my tank. I've had 5 fridmanis since I started this hobby and no issues from any.

Same here, have a royal and never had an issue. Depends on your tank size.

Get a Neon Dottyback. I had mine for over a year and it has been a great citizen in my tank. He has a very curious personality and is very hardy. He has never nipped on any coral or caused any problems. Don't get a bicolor Dottyback they are very aggressive.
