7D all the way. It is a much better camera and newer technology. My favorite part of that video is the Nikon strap on the 5D Mark II. LOL!!!

I shoot with this...

Canon T1i
Canon 100mm Macro F/2.8 USM

And yes I took both of the plant shots...lol. Let me know if you have any other questions...

my favorite part is.. that asian guy on the video sounds British.....

Because of the earthquake.. Canon won't be putting out anything for up to 9 months.. basically because their factory got leveled... the Lens factory alone needs 3 months to calibrate their equipment to make.. well.. lenses... so whatevers left on the market is left.. get it fast before they run out or skyrocket in prices... per Dude working at OC Camera in Mission Viejo, CA...

I have both and they are both great cameras. I use the 7D more for sports. 5D is full frame, but I haven't used it much yet. Will be using it at a Wedding that I will be shooting in June. I like the view finder and the assoicated features and the separate button for video on the 7D. The 5D image quality is supposed to be better and it has higher ISO capabilities. Can't go wrong either way.

I have the 7d, I also upgraded from the xti.... One thing I suggest for you is to try out the 7d at a store or even borrow it for a week or so because focusing is not just pointing and shooting on the 7d. Focusing takes some practice and some people don't like it.

I like it tho, it's an awesome camera. Either camera is a good buy, just depends what kind of shoot you do most.

I'm not a pro so for me sports is my nephews soccer games. The 7D does well because of the autofocusing and the 8 fps so you can just blast away and get really nice action shots. I will be using the 5D more for landscapes and portraiture. As far as photos, that's my weekest point. I'm slow at processing photos and I doing some remodeling so my computer where I process them is down. If I can dig some up I will post. There are a bunch of threads for 7D vs 5DMKII at POTN. It's an awesome site. Lots of great info.
