So I had an issue with the power on my 50 cube about a week or so ago. The GFCI would trip every 10-15 minutes out of the blue. After hours of testing for every single device that I have there, I sort of put my finger on the Radion G3. Who would have thought a bad Radion unit right? but whatever, thing happens.

I went and grab a 2nd unit that I have, I have 3 that I’m about to set up on my new to me tank. Anyways, plugged that in, went and grab some food, came back with a tank with no moving water... the GFCI stripped again. I was like WTF... and started to doubt myself about the bad Radion. Tested everything all over again including the power blocks... again, the Radion that I just put in there tripped the circuit... two bad Radions? Seriously? Both are just a few months old. I took both units and tested them on every single GFCI circuit that I have in the house, 2 at the tanks, two in the kitchen, two in the bathrooms. All tripped after 5-15 minutes. Went and grab my 3rd but older unit that I have had for a while. No more issue, knock on wood...

I put in a ticket with Echotech, they did the normal checking stuffs like when did you buy the units and such..Then told me to call in to have the power supplies replaced. I called and was told that the newer power supplies that they have for the newer Radion G3's have a known issue with stripping the GFCI... They are sending me new ones.. should be here by Wednesday.

The long winded post is that, if you have purchased a new(er)G3 lately and its not on a GFCI circuit, take it to one and test it before your warranty runs out. You will have to set your light on with some white leds/other leds beside all blue and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. There was a time where I was almost sure it was not the G3's because when I tested one of the units late at night, it was on night mode with all blue. It stayed on for like an hour... then stripped as soon as changed it to use some white and other leds.

If you are about to buy a used G3, make sure to test it with a GFCI circuit before you pay your hard earned money. That is all!
