Two Ecotech Radion gen2 $950 (mar manufacture date, purchased around april) will throw in AI light rail (36", works perfectly for a 48" tank). Also have a reef link for $100 with purchase of the lights. Decided to switch over to 48 giesemann infiniti fixture pr something similar (will trade if you have on).

These are the lights and rails over my 48" tank.

brown as not enough lights, or too much ?
To tell you the truth I am not really sure! I have been reading a lot about these lights to decided if i wanted to keep them. I have came across some threads on other forums with beautiful sps tanks powered by radions. I noticed that tanks with MH/T5 lighting are brighter and more full. So i am just going to give them a try... You know how we all like to switch things up! :)

My tank is only been up for about 5 to 6 month and you need to remember corals take a little longer to color properly determining from who you get it from and what they use and also my tank is well stable now I'm throwing in new frag like I've just got a copp bonsai about maybe a week ago to week and half and this thing is has already picked back up with growth.

They are nice but my sps are browning a bit. Switching it up... Thanks !
The radions are nice but I honestly think you need a lot of them and they're very costly. I've seen tanks similar to yours in size with 3 and 4 radions that had good sps results.

I used to defend led only tanks but the majority of people on here think you need a combo of some sort to be successful. I think sps only tanks can handle it if there are enough. Combos are always better still.

Giesman fixtures are very nice and I'm sure you'll have success

To add to what he stated you must slowly raise your Intensity mine are at 100% now lights are at 13 in above water level 28 inch to sand bed remember my radion is above a 36in so to cover my tank with just one fixture it need to be high

Not enough. Too much will fade the corals out and bleach them.
That is what i thought so i turned my radions to 70 percent after reading about other sps tanks powered by radion. Maybe i just need to be patient/keep things stable and find out if the radions will color up my corals...

Exactly what I was thinking. Like I said when I switched to LEDs I lost a lot of corals. I could have been angry and hated LEDs and switched back but I hung in there and gave it some time to adjust.

I have mine are hung about 14" over the water and it is a 20 deep to the sand at 75% (changed this week). They Cover the whole 48x30 tank but i am not sure if it strong enough throughout the tank? My sps are mostly in the middle towards the top. I put a frag rack in the center of the tank about 6 inch down with 5 new live aquaria aquacultured frags ( i don't even know what they are yet). I will see the colors or lack of when i get home from bear mt on sun... That is the worst part about putting in new stuff and going on vacation, always wondering how the coral and fish are!!!

hey danny im gunna email u the schedule right now send me ur number and i shoot u picture the picture i send you was used with an iphone which really sucks and i will also send you the picture of the person tank that i got the lighting schedule from aswell because he is a vender and a good buddy of mine. which two of his tanks are light with all radions. be care with turning your intensity up fast as you might stress the coral and bleach them i have done it with a few of my corals when i first set up the tank but i have learned also when getting new corals specially getting corals from someone not running led turn your leds down to like 50% or so intensity to accu them to leds really helps introduce new sps with out stressing them out and lossing color when i have learned as well...
