Hello, I wanted to know what's everyone's take on these LED strips. I am looking in to replacing my PC actinics with these strips as supplement with my MH 250w. I'm looking at a total of 8 strips on a 52" long and 24" tall tank. I am currently running 250w Radiums along with the actinics. Please let me know if it's worth getting these. Thanks in advance.

They should be fine for supplements lighting. Now knowing the watts they use they will most likely not be enough lighting.

so they are .5W led's... hmm.... wait... quarter watt..?

that said... i don't think they are powerful enough to wash out any of the MH light as supplements... they sounds like decent moon lights... but will not replace 96W of PC lighting... if they would have at least 1W led's, then maybe... but still... that's a toughie...

so you don't think 6 of these will be enough along with some MH 250's?

the thing is you want them to penetrate the water column... since each LED is .25W they aren't going to have enough PAR to do the job...

you could try it... but i seriously doubt it will be a useful supplement...

get two 48" T5HO's... that will do the job... get an ATI blue + and a wave point coral wave bulb... great color...
