kind of sucks that you would have to watch it die in your tank. I say give it a quick death and eat it. Then go buy one from the seafood market for your tank. Usually they give you a weird look when you ask for just one and not one pound lol.

The deed ha been done haha. But ya I figured I would just use a shrimp to cycle my tank cause I ran out of my quickcycle but mainly because I'm in no hurry
Oh well that's a horse of a different color lol. If he's dead just throw him in.

Will it work to cycle water in a plastic garbage tub with a rio running in it?
I had a huge dead shrimp in there for 2/3 days then took it out cause there was a bunch of slimy crap on the top of the water and cord, etc.

Then a week later the water turned back to normal no slime or nothin :?
When you end up putting it in your tank with rock you will always get a slight cycle from the disturbance. Are you cycling live rock with it? Will you be using dry rock or sand? These will cause.

No I didn't put in live rock with it but I do have about 17 pounds of live rock in a foam box covered in saltwater.

I will be using aragonite reef sand (currently have 60 pounds of it but undecided on if I want a DSB in my 60 gallon because I want to house a carpet anemone in the center and hope for it to house there.
Is there a pump circulating the water in the foam box?
