I have always used white egg crate to grow out Aiptasia and always have a layer of green algae growing on. My question, I've heard green algae won't grow on black egg crate. Anyone have experience before I go to the effort.
I don't know about black, but half of my make shift frag rack (white egg crate) in my fuge section of sump is now covered in green hair, none in the DT though...

12 hours blue/red, 10 hours 6500k PC, 4" sandbed in fuge. Sump is a DIY hybrid= fuge on left-return center-LR/skimmer/sock on right. Fuge fed by return manifold, drain into socks on far right. I don't clean up the fuge too often, clean the rest every few weeks when I notice some buildup. I just leave the algae the fuge, figure as long as it isn't in the display, I'm not going to worry about it too much.
