Egg crate or glass lid?

My glass lid broke in the corner and I was debating if I should buy and egg crate for the top of my tank or get a glass lid? What do you guys think ? What are the benefits and disadvantages of each?

Get some clear netting from brs or I think Michael's and a screen kit from home depot and make a screen for your tank. takes about 15 min

If anything a glass top would keep the heat in although help with evaporation ... screen cover will improve o2 exchange... some fish would fit through egg crate.

Keep the glass lid, egg crate deflects a lot of your lighting and it looks real ugly. If you don't want glass anymore get am acrylic lid cut out. Screen covers also deflect a little of your light, but if you don't mind they are a great option too.
