So I’m ok at fixing things. I do like trying to built or repair things.
I can try to fix your broken items. I’ve already fixed a few items for members here. I’ve repaired 2 DDRs, one that had a leak and the other had rusty sensors. I’ve done multiple eb832 that had outlet failures. A kessil H380 that had a fan power source failure. A apex 2016 that the WiFi chip fried out. A few radions. Rebuilt a 187g Lee-mar.
I’m not looking to start a business or anything. I just really like tinkering with things. I will basically fix it for the cost in parts and I’d gladly work for corals in my time.
Hit me up if interested

What’s the exact issue? Are the 24v ports working? Is the apex reading the eb832? What does the led on the eb832 do when it is powered on?
I’m not sure what the cost will be if the capacitors are blown. I take my multi-meter and test the resistance on each regulator, resistor, and capacitor.
But if it’s just the outlets that have failed and the 24v ports are still functioning, then that’s a easy fix. I charge like $25 to fix that. Now that $25 is you either ship the item to me or bring it to me. But if you want me to do an at home service I’ll have to add in fuel costs for my Nissan Titan.

Ok Im no tech genius. But I am pretty handy. I can’t say for sure I can fix all items. I do my best to figure things out. Like in summer of 2020 the lower board went out when my wife was on the exercise bike. The bike was out of warranty and it was going to be $500 to have a service tech come out and look at the bike and they couldn’t give me a time line on service cause of the pandemic. I broke out my multi-meter and started checking the components on the board. In about 5 min I found the bad resistor. Hoped on the old inter weds and found the part for $25. By the next weekend I had the bike up and running.
So I always recommend if the item still has a warranty then let them deal with it. But if not and it’s worth repairing and not replacing then hey give it a shot. I easily saved $600-$1000 on a service call and repair. The dam bike cost $2900 brand new during the pandemic.

Let’s be honest I’m a crazy stupid a-hole. I’m the idiot that broke down a 187g Lee-mar and rebuilt it. @Goober says it’s no longer a Lee-mar it’s an E-Mar 187g. How many guys are that bat shit crazy that would even attempt to rebuild a tank of that size (My hand is raise high as f—-, right now!). Man I turned this

Everything in Apex appears to "look" fine, except a voltage error pops up and no power coming from the outlets. Toggling outlets on and off doesn't do anything.

That’s the driver issue very a common issue that breaks on older versions

Yep that is most likely the 12v buck ac/dc converter inside the eb832.

If had to replace both of mine and both of my buddies.

How hard is the repair? Are there instructions online anywhere? Is this something I should attempt on my own, or better to have someone fix for me?

So going through this thread, isn't he simply replacing the power supply with the exact same cheap part? It stands to reason that the replacement will also fail in the same fashion?

I found this thread: Another attempt at fixing Apex EB832 | REEF2REEF Saltwater and Reef Aquarium Forum

He actually goes through and replaces the capacitors (the actual parts that failed) on the power supply. I think this would be a more robust, long term solution.
