Hadn't had a chance to post up my little cube and my set up adventure so here goes...the first pics

Started with a hydor slim skim a diy hob refugium and a canister filter. The stand was later painted black. The initial light was an old coralife power compact that I added 2 ecoxotic magenta/blue stunners to.
cycling.
first couple of coral

Then I decided to upgrade filtration to a sump. Custom sumps are out of my price range so I built this baby
and added a real skimmer (bubble magus 3) the sump is tall for added water volume and goes in a u shape. I also added more live rock and a 7"deep sand bed to it. Along with a UV sterilizer
upgraded the light to a maxspect razor 160w and modified it by adding 2 t8 actinics for better spread and coloration

And here it is today...changing every day

Because its hard to find 18"t5 at an affordable price. I'm only using the t8s for better spectrum and spread. My maxspect razor is sufficient light but ime corals benefit from the full coverage of light just as much as they do from intensity.
