I just happen to walk by the tank at 1AM last night a saw a "giant" Eunicid worm crawling among the rock! It must at least 1/4 inch thick and god know how long...it's a scary sight. Now I know what happened to my Naoko wrasse :( I tried to catch it but it was too fast. Anybody have any ideas on how to catch or trap these things? beside removing the rock work. Thanks!

Only way is to pull rock out of the tank and pour peroxide on the rock. If your lucky the worm will come flying out if not a hammer will be required. Do not leave any part of the worm behind in the rock it will regrow.

I think I have small pest trap. But from the sounds of it. Worm won't fit. Try making a trap, like a water bottle. Bait it and leave over night

If you're sure it is a eunicid I'd take the rock out and place it in fresh water. It's worked for me twice. I actually kept one in a 5 gallon tank. I'd entertain my kids friends by dropping in some shrimp... but I only knew it was eunicid because it was munching on my coral. I've had huge worms that looked similar in one tank for 5 years w/o any issues. Only discovered them when I broke it down.

I feel your pain. I have the exact same situation. Been procrastinating ever since I discovered it. Fortunately, mine is pretty small, but scary nonetheless.
Oh... They bite. Be careful. Permanent numbness with a Eunicid bite.

And probably a lot of screaming like a little girl...

It must have been in my system for the last 3 years or so because I haven't add any new rocks...but a few months ago I lost 3 wrasses in the period of 2 weeks then last week I lost my last wrasse, a Naoko wrasse that I had for 3 years....now I know what happened since wrasses sleep in the sand bed and become easy preys. Tearing the tank down is not really an option ( at least at this point) since I have sps and monti encrusting everywhere and all the rocks are epoxy glued together.
