don't bother... it's cool to see them eat, but it's not as nutritious as nori... go to an asian grocery store and buy some unsalted unflavored nori... it's cheap and nutritious... well somewhat... it's that sea weed wrap for sushi...

I tried it too, and my tangs didn't look at it either. Many fish stores seem to feed it to there tangs, but beware as there fish may not be as healthy. Nori also helps tanks becomes less stressed when they eat it. I have some nori that is soaked in garlic extract to help attract the fish to it. They go nuts every time i put it in there!

Figured I would give it a try sense David Saxby feeds his monster Surgeons the lettuce. They did finally start eating the lettuce once my Maroon clown started nipping at it. I feed my Tangs the Nori and they eat it up. I like the Nori because is cheap and easy to find. Thanks for the feedback.

Well, I would assume that they would eat it. The problem is that it is not as nutritious as Nori is. I believe that Nori is grown with a softer celuose content and is more rich in vitamins and minerals that the fish need. Lettuce is of a harder celulose, which seems to not be digested as well. If you ever feed your tangs and have seen them poop, you will notice that it is stringy. As gross as it is, the stringiness is undigested celulose.

Tang's main diet isn't meaty foods. They are mainly herbavores, in the wild they scour the reef in search of algae. Hence why if you don't feed your tangs they will hunt and pick at the rocks for every bit of algae.

some arizona drinks they sell at the stores contain spirulina... there are also some naked fruit drinks that have it as well... for health conscious people, spirulina is a god send... it does wonders for your skin, and is a good immune booster...

check it out...

Interesting! I have actually heard that power will be generated by algae in the future.

Algae powers my reef tank. Well not really. But it is my only filtration. My new vertical scrubber. Was using a horizontal but vertical is more efficient.

Looks like Drew remembered. Check out the site. No competition of sites. Strictly a filtration site dedicated to Algae scrubbers.
I've been using one for almost a year now.
