Hi all, we will be on vacation for 16 days and will have somebody come over to feed our fish. We have clownfish, chromis, wrasse, damselfish, anthias and one blue eyed kole tang. Right now I feed them 3 times a day with frozen food. Question is can I feed them once every two days while we are away?

would definitely affect your nutrient levels if you have corals. i think it should be fine if you only have fish but your anthias might take a hit

This is the main reason I have an auto feeder on at baseline. Adjusted my filtration to keep nutrient stable. 2-3 week before vacation, I turn up auto feeders and stopped feeding tank manually. Adjust to keep nutrient stable then leave. Just came back from 2 week vacation. All was well with my parameters.

Try TDO pellet soak in garlic may take a few days to get the picky fish to accept the pellets than they’ll eat it without garlic. I mix in seaweed extreme pellets for the tang too

Does your fish eat live baby brine shrimp? If the answer is yes, then google Paul b mandarin vacation feeder. Easy to DIY. The person you have coming can clean and refill the feeder for the fish to eat on the day he/ she is not there. That might help if you don’t have time to train them to eat pellets or setup a frozen food auto feeder

Let me google the frozen auto feeder. Hope it's not too complicated. And no, I don't feed live baby brine shrimp right now. Thanks for all the info.

Your fish don't eat pellets and flakes? Dang, they eating good! Haha.

My fish eat good, but not just frozen. You gotta wean them off just frozen. Hell, I'm eating top ramen, and the fishes are eating frozen seafood!
