Well, that's a loaded question. It's been up and running for 8 months, but was previously a coldwater setup, Tyson brought home a Cal Spiney Lobster diving, and I didn't have the heart to eat him, so we bought tank, etc. (which is why I have a chiller) for him. He passed about 1 1/2 months ago (chiller to pump issue, got too warm for him) and we started to reset the the tank to reef. As you can see from the before, we've made tons of changes, but the biggest one was two weeks ago we took out the nasty (and I mean nasty, it was really gross at the bottom) crushed coral and shell substrate we'd had to have with Pinchy, he kicked up the sand to much to have it. So in essance, it's only been running properly for two weeks now since we added all the LS. We've got it down from a frightening 160 to 40 or so, and this seems to be my barrier right now, but I'm hoping another couple of water changes might just do it, plus all the additional LR we added today. Amm and Nitrite are fine, just the Nitrates. Chaeto in the sump, so I'm thinking it's just a waiting and water changing game now. But if anyone has some tricks, I'm game.
