Being a computer programmer and handy with plumbing don't go together, I think my wife only agreed to the tank because she wants a new hardwood floor.

Any updates? I'm still on the planning phase of my build. Have you decided on the equipment your going to use?

I landed up ditching the tank, the crack continued to grow and was near the edge. I got a line on a new tank, thinking of going with the following 96"Lx36"Wx18"H and a standard 72x24x24 sump. I get pricing today for the tank and sump, then will need to find a stand. Anyone see anything wrong with this selection?

Any particular reason for 20" vs. 18"? I wanted the length and more importantly the 36" width, but was avoiding 24" to keep the tank from being "overwhelming" in size. I saw a 24" and 12" high version. The 24" was just massive and although I loved the look of my buddies 12", I wanted a little depth. I'm going to do one big rock structure on one size and a bunch of smaller cave structures (4"x12") in a big big sand area.

Yeah upgrading, but I'll have to sell my 100g cube and the 60g frag tank after I scavenge the parts I want. Big debate at home where to put this, either in the living room or my office...I argued one for each...but well, not so much.

I like the dimensions of this tank, by the way. I "down graded" my 225 to a 180 in December. Same dimensions just 20 tall instead of 24.
