I have no friends so I just wanted to share this with someone who would be excited with me. My gf was happy for me but not as Interested as me

Got the 100GPD 6 stage from BRS and the Smart buddy booster pump!

Finally mixing my own salt water too!

Since I’m on a budget I bought the 160gal bucket of reef crystals

Anybody using them?

Nice work brother ! I’m in the same boat as you My wife is ok with reef tank but not as Interested or care as me.
Lol I’m fortunate enough to where she supports my hobby and wants me to support her own tank in the near future when we finally get a house together but yeah she just doesn’t appreciate on the same level as us nerds

I love that booster too but if you ever do the 150 gpd upgrade I would add a bypass flow restricter on the that booster. I believe it’s a 400ml flow restricter

I use Reef Crystals as well, it has been a good compromise for me.

Congratulations on the RODI/Smart Buddy! It will contribute greatly to the success of your reef. I would recommend a float switch to avoid floods if you haven't added one yet. I don't know if your filling 5g buckets, or a Bruit trash. I always seem to get distracted.

That’s awesome! No more hauling water! I was stoked when I got my ro/di setup. Congrats my friend! Happy reefing!

Unfortunately I had to take back the booster after 1 effing day of use but luckily él Monte (aquatic life location) is like 10 mins away from me. They replaced it in like 15 mins after testing but whatever point is that they told me that booster is only rated up to 100GPD

Ok, glad to know that people are being successful with the budget brand! Cus ummm this hobby is expensive, and I’m not well off lmao
Oh and I’m filling a 5 gal with no float. I’m definitely going to set one up, even if it’s in the 5 gallon lol luckily my set up is on the balcony so if it floods, we got two drains lol

It stopped completely working lol it would power on and give the “ready” status indicator light on top but the pump would never do anything. Upon power up it’s supposed to flush the membrane and it would t even do that. I mean it literally did nothing lol

The tech was even tripping out and said that basically he had to bypass the high pressure switch on it so he just gave me a new unit on the spot
