Any tips and advice would help. My skimmer pulls out light green skimmate and looking to see what I can do to have pull black dark skimmate. It's currently sitting in sump approx 8 in deep. I just dont feel it's working to it's full potential. I have 2 tangs blua and yellow 2 clowns. Total of 7 fish. Sometimes it looks like skimmer foam level drops a little and not much foam falls into collection cup. Any advice would be great. Thx

how tall is the water it's in... my skimmer wouldn't pull out gunk until i raised the water like... 10" or so... but i have a SWC160 cone... i dunno if the rules still apply, but it doesn't hurt to try...

10" of water, the gate valve, and air valve are opened all of the way... good dark green/brown nasty skimmate...

yeah, the higher the darker the skimate... you don't have to close the valves to get some gunk... you save electricity, and skim better that way...

a light bioload like that shouldn't pull out all kinds of gunk like you see in other people's tanks or at the LFS... every tank is different... get it to skim how you want to skim, and just leave it... the SWC's are super easy to adjust and tune...
