I picked up a free tang from a fellow reefer, his dorsal had erosion due to hlle, but he was otherwise healthy and fat.. The guy who gave him told me he eats like a pig in his tank, and the proof was in his weight. He's quite fat.. Well I put him in my small qt. Now he doesn't want to eat anything.

I've tried, nori, nori soaked in garlic, nls, frozen brine and mysis, reef frenzy, spirulina, instant ocean premium..
I've even put algae covered rock in tank

Any luck feeding a finniky yellow tang? Had him since frag. I've been changing water daily because of all the food in tank..

is there any thing in the qt for him to hide in? if its just a bare tank may be part of the issue for the fish to acclimate well it need to feel comfortable and safe keep that in mind !~

I've added more liverock he has already made a home of a cave. I don't plan on medication, so the rock will stay unless I need to add some copper. Which won't be this fish..

How long has he been in the QT? It might take a few days for it to be comfortable.
Is it scared or just not interested in food?

I would just start with garlic soaked Nori. Then once he takes the nori, move on to other garlic soak food like brine and then pellets. Then you could just start putting in non garlic soaked food.
