So I picked up this tank from a fellow member a few months ago. Now that I moved into a new apartment and I have my own garage now. Its time to get this thing going.i plan to get it up and running and slowly add better equipment over time. My vision is having an sps tank but lack the experience.

Equipment
Jebao dct 4000 return pump
E shopp psk75 skimmer
Halo deluxe mx80
X2 small fans unknown brand
X1 Chinese temprature controler
x1 jebao rw4
X2 koralia 400

This is when I first picked it up.

Just tank and stand he also sold me a e shop psk 75 for 20 bucks

diy 10 gallon sump
Picked up tank during petco dollar gallon sale and got glass cut at lowes pretty simple design for my first sump

I was told from previous owner it was a bean style overflow. It took me a while to figure it out but I finished up plumbing yesterday. Made it simple that it just had to go straight down into sump. It has x3 1 inch bulk and a 1 inch ball valve

I also painted the stand a dark brown didn't like the white and took the white off the back glass and painted it a satin navy blue

next is ordering some of that locline stuff to finish return

Awesome dude looks good do you have 2 sides of the tank painted facing wall and what did you put anything in the overflow box it's a huge space I was thinking of rock ruble but don't know b if it will have any side effect because of low water flow

No, clear on all 4 sides. And i didn't do anything in the overflow because it wouldn't have flow through the rocks. Also thought about putting bioballs or something like that, but the lack of flow through the chamber would cause more problems then good. Maybe you could put a small power head at the bottom pointing up to move the water around the rubble. I did put my heater in there though. Would be nice to use up some of that wasted space. Dont have any room in the sump area.

I like your stand. I've thought about redoing my stand. Hate that i have to mount things on the wall cause there is no place for them in the stand.

I was thinking of ting off at the return with a line at the bottom to create flow and putting rocks in there

Why would i do that? Are you just trying to be the sheriff? We have the same tank, so whats wrong with discussing our build/ideas/setups? I'm sorry if i misunderstood what this forum was about.

Chrono, be respectful of the OP thread, thats all. I thought I was looking at their tank when yours popped up after their pictures. I'm not trying to be sherriff. I get it, we are all proud of our tanks. Carry on

I deleted the pictures for you, Hoss. Didn't realize me posting a picture showing him i had the same tank was being disrespectful. Carry on, boss man, keep fighting that good fight.

My mother in law went with this sand in her tank (its black right?) And it looks awesome. Makes me wish i had black sand in my tank. It was recommended to her by marine depote and she is pretty happy with it.
