Have about 120 lbs of live rock with lots of coralline purple growth on it, marshall, fiji, tonga mix $2.00 a lb or take it all for $100. Pieces of various sizes. Also two gold striped maroon clowns that are mated, female about 2.5 inches, male 2 inches $40 for the pair. I will also include a cool looking jewel damsel for free whoever buys the clowns.

Thanks for selling the rock to somebody else when you said I could pick it up on Friday. Called twice and nobody answered. Nice to know there are people we can count on in this hobby.

You sold it to me Wed. A phone call or PM on Thursday or Friday would've been nice. It would've taken less time that it did to load 120lbs of rock into his car.

If there's one thing i've learned as a seller it's that money talks. I've listed items for sale on craigslist many times with many calls from people saying they will come by and buy it and even go so far as to take down an address get directions and say they're coming over only to never show up. I do not know you and you very well may have followed through with your offer to buy the rocks. Do not take this personal; I sold the rocks to someone else because they could come by that same night and the rocks had been sitting out in containers for 2 days and I wanted to get it out of my yard. I dont expect you to understand and if as a seller you are more willing to extend courtesy to someone and hold an item for them then more power to you.

Yah, I can see a valid point from both sides here.

For every one person who keep his/her promises, there're ten others who can't help but flake or will have an excuse handy.

Still, if I were in your shoes, I would just say "sorry first come first serve only" instead of promising to sell then sell to someone else.

I don't know the whole story but that's what I would do.

Yes, a promise was made. And if money was the issue, not time, I could've paid in advance. Nothing was ever mentioned about "money talks". Even if time and money were the issue, I could've made arrangements to pick the LR up on Thur. We're talking a day here....Thur vs. Fri. You made a deal on Wed and I felt like an idiot driving around OC with styro coolers on Friday waiting for your Dad to return my calls. The real issue here is one of poor communication....not to mention common courtesy.

Wed 5/6 - you: I have live rock....120lbs.
Wed 5/7 - me: I'll take all of it, Fri ok for pickup?
Wed 5/7 - you: sure, call my dad I'll be out of town, bring tubs.
Fri 5/9 - me: call 1, call 2, VM, PM
Mon 5/12 - you: I sold it On Thur.
Mon 5/12 - me: wth?

"money talks"? IMO, that sucks. I didn't earn a rep on NR and SCNRS as a good guy to trade/buy corals from by putting $$ first.

That's how life is, especially on forums nobody knows you and you barely know anyone before they judge you right or wrong. ironic isn't it? :hmmmm:....

Agreed. Your reputation speaks for yourself. You are only as good as your word on these forums and Stan's word is good as gold.

Thats bull, a deal is a deal. I have been flaked on many times, twice this month. I mark their names down and never deal with them again. But, to tell someone the rock is there's and agree on a date for pick-up, Then Flake and sell to someone else is WRONG. I dont care what you been through with flakes, not everybodys the same.
