I've been a fan of this place for a while now. Aside from the fact that it is right down the street, the owner and employees are cool guys. Occasional great buys can be found in their zoa frags. He is not into the whole designer zoa thing, so he sells some frags that would be more expensive if they were named and posted on here.

He has also has a big area with bargain frags.

With a lot of the shops in the SGV closing, this one is really the best around.

+1 this shop is 10 minutes from me.
I just took johnwin there the other day, it has improved immensely since I first started stopping in a couple years ago.
The selection isnt bad, they now have chalices, acans, zoas, and they have revamped the fish wall. good selection of dry goods- they carry dr tims and other goodies. The only complaint i have is the sps always seems to be dead/dying. they need someone to dial in that display tank to keep the sps alive until sold.

Ill have to ask the owner if i can do a photo tour of the store for everyone here.

+1 they made a complete revamp over the last year and really makes me want to start a planted tank. At first when I went there it looked like ur typical mom n pop shop but they've really spruced the place up without raising prices.

You thinking of going Brick & Mortar Tony?
Haha no way! That's a headache I DON'T need. I'm just curious. There are certain lfs I want to close down and some I don't.

Ive always had luck with fish world, but when I was going there his coral selection sucked. He did mention he was going to revamp it.

CK Fish World is the best in SGV hands down. Tanks are super clean and pretty good variety. I used to go there just for my planted tanks, which are sooooooo much easier to take care of. When I got my salt tank I went to all the stores in SGV and this one is the best. Others I went to were either shady guys trying to rip off a noob, tanks full of algae, tiny selection, overpriced , or not helpful. This is my main store.

How did you miss $100 added to the bill?!
Baller!!!
That's the point I waited for him to finish n for me to pay n walk out the store Just to see if he would catch his mistake. Walked to my car counted my items n prices he quoted n also the ones listed then at the end of the receipt there it was a $100 even added on so I went back in. And returned everything I guess he thought he could pull a fast one cause he new I was from Beaumont which is almost 50 miles and I wouldn't catch it maybe I should have told him what I did for a living. Like I said I would nvr go back nor recommended that store it was not a mistake it was done in purpose thinking he could pull a fast one

Thats rough. Do you know if it was the store owner or just a greedy employee?
Young Asian guy I guess he was the owner cause the employees all asked h questions on price. But I always ask for a receipt because they tend to try n rip off customers if they can. N I always wait n pay n let them hang themselves later

Ck fish world has always been good to me. I don't even ask for discounts. As soon as I get to the register Peter starts knocking down the prices. I can even take an additional 10 percent off for being a scape member but I never present my card to him because he already gives me good prices.

What are you basing this on? If you went there several times, and saw them ripping people off, why the f would you shop there? And if you have only been there once and you were ripped off, how can you say that they tend to rip off customers. Just sayin...

That one that was pretty nice in Upland closed. Total fish and Pet in Monterey Park closed. Fish USA in Glendora closed (where I used to get my fish). Some other stores remain open despite how crappy they are. lol
For Total Fish and Pet, you mean the old one on Garvey Ave or the new shop at Valley Blvd? I drove past by it while getting some food at The Hat and they were open (unfortunately).

Yup, the old one on Garvey. Not that that store was really awesome, but you could find some nuggets there occasionally.
