Isn't the whole point to maintain a consistent water level? And I planned on using a time delay in the programming to prevent short cycling. I whipped this up at work yesterday (on my lunch break of course) and plan to mount it into the sump this morning.

That'll work fine, but I agree with Cy that you'd want the switch adjusted a little higher. With mine, I should of gone with two separate brackets, but I got lazy.

The way that switch will work is if the switch at the bottom drops, it'll turn on your ATO, once it floats up it'll shut it off. On the other switch, if the switch rises (due to bottom switch getting stuck), then it'll turn off the ATO.

Did you already buy it? You could try purchasing two separate brackets with switches to have a little more control on the water level.

On my setup, I wish the top switch was higher so I could send an email when it rises to alert me. But what ends up happening is that when I turn off my return and the switch rises, it'll send me an email. But it's not because the first switch failed, it's just cause my return was off. If I could put it higher, I wouldn't get that false alarm.

I made it from scrap acrylic. Used a torch to heat it up and make the bend. The switches from BRS. I'm thinking I could add a spacer (using acrylic) to adjust the switch height..

Oh and the nylon nut & bolt assembly came from Home Depot, a super fancy toilet seat hold down mechanism.

Thanks Mike. As for now I'm using some Velcro. Not exactly a long term solution but until I get things dialed in it should work. I'll make another one of these with a mounting bracket on top and some thumb screws to hold it down.

Be careful with velcro, the saltwater might affect the adhesive.

That's a good tip, thanks. I'll keep my eye on it. I even thought about super glueing it, I'd still have the adjustability at the switch level..
