So I was look at my tank at night with a flash light and discovered some new inhabitants. One looks like an anemone, but it only comes out at night. When i shine the light on it, it slowly moves away from it. It is very small, about the size of a pinky nail. If this is an anemone what kind is it.

Also I discovered what looks like a brown cucumber of some sort. I don't think I have to worry about it,( but I could be wrong) but i would like to know the name.

those are some good pics of whatever that is, but a top down pic would help more. to me it looks like a nem of some kind.
I can't get a top down pic because that piece of rock is under a piece of shelf rock. I am only concerned because I had a nem and it moved around in the middle of the night and stung two heads on my duncan and my green slimer. I just don't want this little guy moving around stinging my corals.

In the first pics, I thought it was a nudibranch but the last couple do look like a nem maybe. Could be a majano though and there no good! Definitely need better pics from the top down. Does it move from that spot on the rock?

Pics of the brown cucumber thing?

Ok I see the pic of the brown thing but I can't tell what I'm looking at really. Does it crawl or it doesn't move from that spot? Looks like it could either be a stomatella snail or an encrusting sponge

The first thing looks like a mojano anemone. They are a pest anemone, but not as bad as aiptasia. It's hard to tell what the second thing is. It does look like a cucumber, but it could be something else, too. Do you ever see it near any corals? Definitely keep an eye on it.

Yes it moves all over the rock that it is on. Luckily that rock sits alone on the sandbed. The cucumber can be seen in the two alone pictures, it is in the hole in the rock

I just noticed it tonight. I will keep an eye on it, but have not noticed it next to any corals. Before i added the rock to my system I dipped it using coral Rx( I guess dip had no effect on these two hitchhikers)

I thought majanos were a lot worse than aiptasia!

Which one moves all over the rock?

This guy moves around, and when I shine a light on it, it moves away. It has a white string like thing coming out of end. I need to wait for it to move some more so i can get a full body shot.

Majano in pic one...best advice there is no suck thing as a good hitchhiker usually unless it was a sweet chalice...kill'em..they will serve no benefit...kalkwasser and a syringe, takes care of it all

They are pests, but they seem (at least from what i've seen) to spread a lot slower than aiptasia.

Maybe it's just that they're a lot more aggressive and harder to get rid of. I don't know... I've never had them but I've always heard they're worse

Ya I agree that looks like a majano. The cucumber most likely is a detrivore but like they said keep an eye out. I have a couple of tiger tail cucumbers and they spend the evenings wait of the sand and pooping it out the back side
