I don't know if it's allowed to post a link to other forum but extreme corals got some bad reps on RC. I bought frags from Totally Exotic Corals and they were exactly the ones in the pics. If it says WYSIWYG in the description, it usually is the actual frag in the pic for sale.

with the local selection in CA wy would anyone here buy from an out of state vendor? Keep in mind 80% of corals come though LAX and our local shops and hobbyists are the envy of the entire nation

There is a good reason why vendors don't prefrag, beside the fact that it is a pita to take 11 pics of the same coral as frags, cut to order frags have better coloration that stays truer to the mother colony

Spend your dough locally, keep the cash in CA

well I can say that most of the frag I cut up are the same a the mother colony and posting 10 of the same thing really is a wast of time when there all the same. well I know of 3 frag farmers that are on with in 20 mil radius " Magic Mountain" area and they all will ship and the prices are descent.

Hear are some farmers that I Know of and I have bought things from as well

hear are some that are sponcer this sight as well

Fraggle Reef
Fantastic Frags
Stewart's Frag Fram
Wet Thumb Frags

I am sure that there are more

I have to say that if the hours in the day were endless I would love to post pictures of each frag FS on the site, but it just becomes very labor intensive to do that. Typically a parent looks just like the frags, so its the easiest way to "present" the corals is to show pictures of the parent. There are tons of coral farmers here in SoCal.

Good luck!

This has been our experience with many lps (favia, micros, some chalice), after cutting the frags are in survival mode and seem to fair better in transit if shipped a week or so after cutting. Frags that have been cut for a while will adapt to the new position in that tank (our frag tanks have different lighting than the holding systems) and sometimes get stripes or other anomalies in coloration

dfladermaus answered this best, we can some time have up to 500 + frag and that is not including the mother colonies. Most of the farmers have full time jobs too like my self and some time there is not enough time in a day...:)

jendub is right about healing in the system there used to. After fraging the coral are stressed and need time to recover before shipping. IMO I want to see all coral live and that is why I dont frag and ship.
