Frag Swap Anyone April 10-11 ?

So this will be on the same day as the MAX event? It does seem a bit malicious, you could host this any other weekend. I'm just curious as to why you would want to pull vendors away from another event. I know from last year that many people that went to the show stopped by your shop while they were at it.
Just my 2 cents but the more I see your lack of business ethics the less inclined I am to spend any money at your store.
I think a frag swap sounds like a great idea but purposely doing it on the same day as another annual event with the sole purpose of pulling business away from them is not the way to maintain good business relations with the rest of the industry. A little competition is great for both the consumer and store owner but it seems that this is just you trying to cause problems and I'm curious as to why.

I know I'll get flamed on this board for anything that isn't praise for So cal tropical but I'm just curious like I said. While I have seen a ton of love for Tom here I have also seen plenty of arguments the other way so I just would like to know what his reasoning is for wanting to for all intents and purposes attempt to sabotage the MAX event. I always open for comments and suggestions, your input is very important to us. You don't know the whole story behind this, so I suggestion you to use your research. Most of the things were deleted by the mods; I already moved on and as you see I am not on here that often.
If you don't know the history and don't want to go thru all the hard work of search; let me make is short for you. I decided not to be part of ??? last year, we had a sale and it turn out great. We will have it again this year.
I was looking at the thread that got deleted by the mods. Lot of coral farmer vendors were complaining about the price being too high, $1000 for a booth ? so lot of them are not going to be at the show this year.
And since ??? was throwing a cheap shot at me for not beeing at ??? last year, I think it's a great idea to do a frag swap this year. Don't you think ?
Lets say the coral farmer vendors attending the show, they need to raise their price so that they can get their money back. You as a hobbyist wont get any good deal, correct ? so if there is a frag swap where there is free for everyone and everyone will get a killer deal.
Beside if everyone coming out for ???, they would likely to come to the swap, don't you think ? this way you don't have to waste 2 more days.
I am not trying to pull vendors from ???, ??? still will get their BIG vendors like, ecotech, lee mar, reef nutrition...etc. I am just trying to get the poor garage vendors that can't afford to pay $1000 for the show.
Beside this is a try out event, I will be putting together a WORLD WIDE REEFERS show next year.

As I keep telling all my customers, great feedbacks and supports are greatly appreciate it however I like to see more negative feedback more. Because this is the only I can improve and learn.
My customers supported me, because they know the story and they know that I always try my best to help them. Except for 2 or 3 that I can't do much...LOL

Andy - no matter if we have any vendors attend the swap, for sure this year we will have BBQ and if there coral vendors, then it's a BONUS for you guys.
For me, we will have a second anniversary sale, raffles, food and drink, maybe a bounce house ( but I don't know if I have room )
Yeah customers were complaining about IMAC, vendors were complaining prices were too high at ???; the thread that got deleted, some vendors are thinking of doing the old style backyard. So I took those ideas and put it together.
I think we have too many trade show, the promotors are getting rich, business is slow, vendors are hurting, customers are losing their job where they cant spend 30 dollar to get in; so a free event is a good idea.
Oh yeah, it doesn't have to be at my store, we can vote and it can be anywhere. But I suggested to be at our since it's my 2nd anniversary and it's going to be fun, kick back BBQ and have some beers.
I don't see our economy improve any better 8 months from now, things will get worse.
