So I got a few bunch of small jackfruit plants (about 6" tall) that I want to give out. If no one wants 'em, I'll probably make mulch out of them. Here's a sample pic of some of them:

Note: I don't have any spare pots. So if you want some, I'll dig them out with some dirt and put them in a plastic bag.

Also, Socal weather isn't so great for Jackfruit but it is possible to grow them. Here's a pic of my current tree:

Wow, how did you even grow them in so cal? Green house? :)

I think unless you release the how to, these are dead for sure in the hand of the rookies!

i've seen a couple of trees out in about... but they will never fruit... but socal's temps are changing... before, chirimoya and sour sop wouldn't fruit too... but now i see a lot of people with fruiting chirimoya and sour sop... bomb fruit... like in two years, they'll start fruiting...

that's awesome of you... if i had the space, i would get one...

No real secret. My parents got a bunch of seeds, stuck them in the ground, and out of that bunch, only one lived. That one ended up bearing fruits at its 2nd and 4th year (which is this year). No greenhouse was used either.

I realized that most of the people who PM'ed me are not in the LA area. I feel bad making you guys drive this far just for a tiny tree. Your other alternative is that you guys can always go buy a jackfruit, get the seeds, and shove 'em into the ground.

And if anyone wants lineage, these seeds came from a tiny fruit shop in GG that shares the same plaza with 7-leaf cafe at Westminister Blvd and Kerry St.

do they taste good?
They taste pretty sweet to me. Can't really describe the texture.... firm, slightly chewy but has a crunch to it (if that makes any sense).

And if anyone stops by, you can also stop by SPS Coral store in La Canada. They're like 10min alway from my house.

All gone. But don't fret, just get a jackfruit seed and try to grow some. If I can grow Jackfruit in Socal, then I'm pretty sure others can do it too.
