free sick purple tang

I picked up this small Qt'd purple tang last night and notice some white spot on the tail and fin when I got home. Luckily he never went into my DT and has been in a small QT since last night. free to anyone who can properly treat him and can pick up before this Sunday. I like to take down QT tank this weekend. I'm assuming it's ich or velvet but not 100% sure. he is active and eating so that's a good sign

Poor baby. Definitely doesn't look QT'd though.

Hope someone can nurse that guy back to health. Will need to use some antibiotics (i.e. GC or Furan-2) for that fin rot.

Heya John. I’ve got an observation tank that’s been fallow for a while. I can attempt to nurse him back.

I even got some furan-2 left over from before so can try that. Lemme know.

I have a QT up with copper and other meds. Planning to treat my powder brown and can take him tomorrow /Sat — of course, madatom can as well. I don’t need any more fish actually — just doing it for the sake of the animal.

By far one of my favorite fish. Sadly IME most tangs come with ich if not previously quarantined and medicated. I have had 3 of these fish in the past all came with ich and required treatment upon purchase. I don't have a big enough tank for one anymore so my scopas and soon to add white tail are gonna be it. I had the same issue with the scopas, powder blue, hipo...All from different sources all come with ich.
