That’s a moorish idol. It’s illegal to capture any marine life with out proper licensing. But at the moment Hawaii’s ornamental fish collections is pretty much shut down. There are rumors it may open up soon again but I’m not holding my breath

I saw some Hawaiian natives just toss out a net and catch a lunch of fish. He was taking them home to eat. 😛

Funny thing is you can spearfish all the fish you want though without any license
