Sad to rehome one of my moorish idols. I got two bc I heard they are schooling fish so I wanted to provide at least some company to help them feel comfortable. I was lucky to get both through qt and tank acclimation without any issue. They are eating well on flake pellet, nori, and mysis. Basically eats everything but love algae flakes the most.

The problem: once they get comfortable, they hated each other guts. Constantly bickering. Constantly has fin nips. I’m afraid one would eventually kill the other. The body is about 2-3 inches. My tank is 4x3 feet for size reference.

Asking for $100 rehome fee. They are fully qt and been in my qt and now DT for 1-2 months total. I think Marine collector sell them for $550 so I think $100 is not too much to ask and it will help reassure me that new owner is financially committed to providing a good home. Hope to find the right owner with big tanks. As you see, my tank is full of corals. So far no issues but if you underfeed them, they might eat your corals. Most of my fish are bought after from QT vendors but my tank is ich management not ich eradicated. I can provide feeding video on request. Will trap them once I find the right buyer. Location city of orange. I’m selling only one, not both. Keeping one for myself. Thank you.

Thank you for all the interest. Looks like there is a good amount of reefers who are willing to provide this beautiful fish the home it needs. I will prioritize the reefers who has the desire and ability to care for this fish (ie big tank, commitment, time to come get it). The hard part now is catching the fish without stressing it out. I’ll try to trap it but the tangs makes it difficult as they rip apart the baits in minutes.
I may not have time to answer all the inquiries. I will reach out when the fish has been trapped. Thank you.

I’m working with a reefer right now to rehome the fish. Will reach out if thing fall through. Will update the thread. If you are interested pls follow the thread.

I will record a feeding video today and say the date in the video. After that I will try to trap it and if successful may not have feeding video after today.

Let me know if you need a trap. Best is to bait the trap for a few days, let them get comfortable, and feed the trap.

a MI that doesn't eat coral would be amazing.. I had one in my 600 gal and it's so beautiful swimming around along with my triggers. They love to swim against the powerhead currents. but I wanted corals and MI had to go..
