not sure, i think it's first gen? It doesn't have the HDMI port if that would give you an idea. But I've already spent $80 repairing it two other times and won't spend any more dough on it. I've got a PS3 now anyway...

I think I should have the supplies to fix it...if not I just need thermal paste which is a couple of bucks and I'll do it for free...I need something to occupy my time...quick question...when u hit the power button does th system run for a few seconds then go to the RROD or does the RROD pop up as soon as the power supply is switched on?

That happened to my nephews with the Xbox that I bought them a couple xmas ago. They fixed it themselves. I will ask how later today and pm you the solution.
