I don't know... they don't look like fungia babies.
They look more like palythoas growing on a dead fungia.

If they are fungia babies, then they should have skeletal disks fully formed by that size.

I was thinking that because I have a baby in my tank too.. But they showed me a frag they pulled from it and it had a skeletal base formed. I'll try and get a shot of the frag next time I'm there

Vivid has a colony like this. I got a baby and it was similar to a shroom or polyp at first. The skeletal plate formed and hardened. It then popped off the plug. It left behind some flesh and now I have another plate growing. Crazy stuff. If I didn't see it first hand, I wouldn't have believed it.
