This is for those that have their own shops, licenses or permits:
I have been putting alot of thought into this lately and I was just wondering what it takes to get started in this industry and what experiences any of you have had getting started. About all I have so far is to first apply for a business license and I have heard that different cities charge different amounts for the permit. Is it more difficult to obtain permits to sell livestock? How do you obtain a wholesalers license? Thanks for any contributions any of you put into this thread

lol... i was going to open one a couple of months ago... i even had the location, but many LFS all told me the same thing... they told me to wait... but yeah you're not going to get any responses from anybody to help you... competition is tough right now... but if you do open up a shop... look into uptown whittier... lol... i even had a cool location on greanleaf blvd... at a 1.50 a square foot it wasn't that bad of a deal... and the only competition was tongs on whittier... everyone hates her and that tongs...

but talk to a wholesaller... depending on how big you're going to be, or what you are going to carry the amount of money you're going to be is going to vary...
