"too easy" is the wrong attitude. LEDs will be an effort in frustration if you don't get the dialed in right. You could lose colonies in the process. The light probably won't look as good to your eyes compared to MH+T5 unless you like the really, really blue look. On top of that, you'll probably have pieces lose color compared to what you had before. It's just not worth it. If you're getting bored with your tank, do something else. Fooling with LEDs for no good reason isn't it. Trust me.

You should sell your live stock and have other reefers take care of your nice pieces before they die off under the new lighting system.....am sure a lot of reefer will take good care of your spa and if u hook them up with a good price they will frag up your piece and sell it back to u when you want to get back into it.....can we see a FTS if our tank?

Why not sell off your livestock and start something tougher like an NPS tank or something of that nature?

im actually leaning torward the kessil 360w's
I actually like the aesthetics of just 2 black pendants hanging from the ceiling over a rimless tank-so fresh so clean.
so what im going to do is sell a lot of my sps colonies and redo my aquasquape and add a lot of lps-scolys, chalices, hammers/frogspawn, nems.

Kessils don't have the best spectrum, but it might work with LPS. I don't know if you saw Reef Raft's 50g cube with the Kessil on it when you picked up your frags, but the thing looked really good when the blues were cranked up. Not so much with the whites at higher intensities. The shimmer is nice, but I found it somewhat distracting. But then again, I don't have extensive experience with the Kessils, so I'll let somebody else chime in. John would be a good person to ask since he has it over his frag tank.

kessils are probally the best right now for the money
also picture over a 8ftx30x18h glass eurobraced leemar tank
w/ 3 kessil black 360w plus 3 250w mh black pendants
all hanging from the ceiling
i think i will be selling my sps colonies/frags soon
to cover the upgrade:)
and start over-sounds fun to me

I have the 360 w over my frag tank. Acro don't do well in the tank. Probably not enough flow or it missing something the t5 from my tank gives off. But the spread is great and I like the color for softies and lps

I say go for it and try something new.

I don't know if you remember but I bought a small frag of red dragon awhile back from you. When I saw it I asked if that was as red as it got, and you said yeah. It looked kind of pale to me. Well fast forward a few months and I would argue that it has colored up a lil better under leds.

I guess some sps would like the change more then others, and figuring it out might provide you with some some challenges to entertain you. Have fun and good luck!
