Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out where to purchase glass baffles in Hollywood. I don't know where to start? Also, is it a strange request to ask them to sand it down? (I'm sure for a charge)

Help!

I used acrylic sheets from lowes.. Cut en and melt/ sand down edges.. Worked fine w a glass sump :) and saved a bunch since it was custom cut glass.

How big a piece is the glass you need cut. Hardware stores (ace) cut glass. Hd doesn't do it anymore, but lowes still does, but it's only 1/8" thick glass. Try Craigslist.

Look for a mom and pop glass shop on yelp. The one up the street did it for cheap and sanded the edges down as well

Well I could double up on the 1/8", technically really just want 1/4".

I worry about the adhesion of the acrylic to glass. The worst that could happen is it expands and cracks the tank or they don't support and the chambers blend together.

Glass has a stronger bond with silicone.

I tried. Couldn't find one in Hollywood.

it gets expensive. thats all i know
I agree. I typically like to buy mine from people that's made it already. Downside is it may not custom fit everything that I have. Next thing you know I'm gonna buy those Rubbermaid containers on Craigslist for $100 just to get a decent sized sump.

Or not.
