New to this site, so I thought I would go ahead and post here about my new baby.
I bought a used 75 gallon acryllic out of someone's yard for $230 with a stand, CPR BakPak, EuroSump, and some pumps. I sold the BakPak, cleaned up the tank, had an overflow put in by Age of Aquariums (after several frustrating diversions). I decided to get some good stuff, so here is how the tank is outfitted:
Eurofil Sump w/Sock
Rio return pump 3500
Phosban Reactor filled with NPX Biobeads (see my post elsewhere about this)
Bubble Magus skimmer
Coralife Turbo Twist 9 Watt
Artica 1/5 HP Chiller
SCWD on the return lines
MVAVA Sun II LED lighting
Stocked with:
Hermits, snails-o-plenty
Bicolor Blenny
Tiger shrimp goby
4 Green chromis
2 Ocllaris clowns
Clown tang
Carperter wrasse
Variety of corals moved from my old tank: Zoas, buttons, 'shrooms, torch, frog spawn, duncans, carpet anenome, a new bubble tip anenome (was hoping the clowns would play with it....not so lucky), a coupld of acros, and some kinda orange large polyp...
Hoping to get some nice new lush corals when my Clients finally pay me.
Future projects/upgrades: Auto water top-off, automated monitoring, maybe automated addition of chemcials or calcium reactor (need to learn about more about these things).
About me: 53 year old married male, have my own safety and environmental consulting business, been reefing last 4 years with a 34 g Red Sea Max (now selling). I've had tanks in the past and more or less took a 3 or 4 year hiatus until I got the 34 g tank, which I found was too small, and was not as happy with the system.
About how I ended up with the 75 g tank....I also had just bought a 60 gallon tank (that's for sale too) from the Salvation Army for $100 complete with stand and two sumps, but then I found a Client who had the 75 for sale. So now I have two tanks to sell. :shout:
